Concept for Historic Castle Interpretation.
I took inspiration from the incredibly well preserved facade of Newark Castle and created a modular system of totems and panels that followed on from their tall ratio windows.
I explored options, not only for substrates, but also to get the text into the substrate in a way that was weather resistant: etching, printing, screen printing, blind foil, cutout?
Due to limited space available for visitor navigation within the castle, I developed a study of font size in relation to reading distance to make sure the text was legible and the panels did not create bottle necks.
